Pigasus was ever such a little pig when he went to Southernwood Farm and he felt rather home sick. But he soon cheered up when Freddie the cockerel introduced him to all the other animals, even Lofty the scare-crow, and the farmer's wife Cora was like a mother to him.
But as Pigasus got bigger he found his pen boring and longed to see the world - if only he could fly how exciting that would be! He told Freddie of his dream and he and the other animals put their heads together to see how a pig really might fly!
Anne Richard 's charmingly written story paints a wonderful and educational picture of life on the farm and the many animal characters who live there which will appeal to all children. It is especially suitable for 6 to 9 year olds with 'young -person' sized print and simple language for early readers. The farmyard characters are beautifully described and the book is illustrated with black and white pictures by Georgina Trotter.
Ann Richard lives in the heart of the Scottish countryside close by the river Spey.
Her easy and descriptive style appeals to youngsters who can identify with her characters and the scenes as they unfold.
