Corrine and Webb Taylor decide to leave the cut and thrust of New York for the peaceful, picture perfect idyllic town where Webb grew up. Webb is home but for Corrine it is a different matter - she is an alien, and before long she finds her peace of mind shattered, her marriage under threat and her career in ruins. As she is drawn deeper and deeper into a life she cannot understand, she rejects sinister warnings that "our town is different - it will get you if you don't watch out".
